After more than 20 years of serving the Nelson/Tasman community from the same office, Absolute Energy has just completed a transformative renovation project that brings its team together under one roof in a space that perfectly blends functionality, style, and sustainability. The six-month renovation has culminated in a modern, open-plan office that is not only a workspace but also a showroom for the company’s insulation products, including Autex Acoustics solutions.

Reimagining the Absolute Energy Office Space

The existing office, which had been the heart of Absolute Energy’s operations for over two decades, was ready for a refresh. The previous space was somewhat of a rabbit warren of corridors, great for confusing people about where they actually were, but less ideal for modern working practices. With teams scattered across several buildings, we wanted to bring everyone together into a unified space that fosters collaboration and a stronger sense of connection. To achieve this, Absolute Energy enlisted the expertise of Nelson based JTB Architects, designer Lyn Russell, and Scott Construction, who understood the importance of creating a functional, stylish, and sustainable workspace.

The result is an open-plan office that seamlessly incorporates natural elements. The design focuses on functionality and efficiency, featuring ample natural lighting, real plants, and planter boxes that serve as natural dividers between workspaces. With the integration of Autex Acoustics products, the office environment facilitates collaboration and productivity but also provides a serene and balanced atmosphere, creating a perfect blend of comfort and professionalism that truly reflects Absolute Energy’s values and spirit.

Autex Acoustics in Action

A key feature of the new office is the integration of Autex Acoustics products, which play a key role in controlling sound and noise within the space. Autex Acoustics, a leader in the development and manufacturing of non-woven architectural textiles, has been at the forefront of creating acoustic solutions that are both effective and aesthetically pleasing.

By incorporating Autex Acoustics products throughout the office, Absolute Energy has created a workspace where employees can focus, collaborate, and communicate without the distractions of excessive noise. Trufill High Performance Insulation

As part of our renovation, we partnered with Safe-R Insulation to demonstrate the effectiveness of Trufill Insulation in a commercial setting. Trufill is a high-performance insulation solution that can be blown at higher densities into tight spaces, enabling superior thermal performance compared to traditional insulation methods. Its versatility allows a single product to be used across the entire building, including floors, walls, and even challenging areas like skillion roofs.

Trufill boasts remarkable thermal capabilities, capable of delivering an impressive R7.3 in a 240mm roof cavity, and R4.2 in a 140mm Wall. This level of insulation ensures that our building maintains optimal energy efficiency, regardless of external temperatures. Additionally, as a CodeMark certified system, Trufill offers an innovative and reliable option for insulating both New Zealand homes and commercial properties.
