Council and community funding

Local government, community groups and charities may provide additional funding avenues for upgrading or replacing your home insulation. Keep reading to learn more.

Marlborough District Council

The Marlborough District Council is offering an energy efficiency funding service to ratepayers for an approved home insulation installation.

For this service Council will provide funding for the cost of an approved home insulation solution which will be recovered over nine years through a targeted homeowner property rate.

Otago Community Trust

The Otago Community Trust covers 20% of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation in conjunction with the Warmer Kiwi Homes grant to make your insulation 100% funded, no cost to the homeowner.

Who can apply?
1. Homes built prior to 2008 and
2. Occupied by the Homeowner and located in an eligible area OR
3. Owned and Occupied by a holder of either a Community Services Card or a SuperGold Combo Card

– Dunedin City
– Clutha District
– Central Otago District
– Queenstown-Lakes District

Central Lakes Trust

The Central Lakes Trust are offering 70% funding up to $2,800 for any home that qualifies.

Check if you qualify?
1. Is your home built before 2008
2. Occupied by the Homeowner and located in an eligible area OR
3. Owned and Occupied by a holder of either a Community Services Card or a SuperGold Combo Card
